Knowing how to do the job helps make the job easier and more fun
for all. The Tecumsa district and the Greater Pittsburgh council
offer all levels of training. There is a training session offered
somewhere throughout the council waiting for you.

Basic Training courses required to be considered "Trained"
|
|
YOUTH PROTECTION TRAINING
All adults leaders and parents camping with Cub Scouts,
regardless of where the camping is being done, must complete
Youth Protection Training.
For Boy Scouts, any adult staying overnight with the Scouts
must complete Youth Protection training.
It is strongly suggested that any
adult that spends time with scouts take this training regardless
of position or even if just "helping out". If you are
around scouts, take this training.
|
|
Simply stated, training courses can be divided into two
categories; Basic and Supplemental. To be considered a trained
adult volunteer, only the Basic courses are required to be
completed.
|
|

If you are unable to attend the training sessions offered by our
District, you can attend training offered by other Districts, as
well as other Councils, to satisfy the training requirements.
However, upon completing the course, please insure that you retain
the signed course completion card. At your first opportunity, you
then need to advise Matt Fisher, Tecumsa District Training Chairman,
of the course completion to insure that your records are correct
(we have no way of transferring records from one Council, or
District, to another so it is imperative that you advise your
District Chairman when courses are completed outside of the
District).
